“Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction”

The Introductory course follows the MBSR Program (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), developed and licensed by The University of Massachusetts that has increasingly become a standard reference in Psychology. The scientific evidence of its concrete benefits in treating diverse pathologies; i.e., chronic pain, anxiety disorders, depression and stress is growing exponentially each year. The practice of Mindfulness induces positive affective states, increases well-being and strengthens the immune system responsiveness.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) in the USA officially recognizes MBSR as a “complimentary and alternative intervention…”

In our interactive and ducational courses, participants receive current specific information related to neuroscientific theory, psychological research and case studies information, face-to-face guided meditations, audios and related exercises to consolidate the knowledge acquired.

The course can be in-person and/or online

Among other empirically-proven benefits, this course will help you develop Emotional, Relational and Attentional Intelligence, demonstrated by:

  • Decreased anxiety and stress.
  • Reduced the disproportionate reaction to conflictive or unpleasant situations.
  • Expanded tolerance to circumstances that are not in our power to change.
  • Increased attention and concentration.
  • Decreased mental agitation, by acquiring greater distance from our thoughts.
  • Realized prejudices and automatic thoughts and behaviors that restrain our flexibility and adaptation capacity to life’s many changes and challenges.
  • Reduced destructive emotional responses and negative states and increase vitality and healthy emotions.
  • Increased our natural defenses by strengthening our immune system.
  • Greater acceptance and compassion towards oneself and others.

An MBSR attendance certificate is issued to allow one to begin the Teacher Training Path and also to continue the advanced Mindfulness training at Psyke.

The courses I have taken at Psyke have been a facilitator in my personal progress. Thaïs, as a professional, guides, explains and helps so that progress can be achieved and does so in a close, clear, natural way and away from paternalism, an attitude that has been essential for me to be able to understand and take responsibility for my life. I recommend the courses to those who really want to work on themselves, they open your mind and allow you to get to know yourself better.
